Ground Water Festival

This event is an Alabama Department of Environmental Management  program designed for 4th grade students. The Ground Water Festival allows each student to conduct 3 hands on activities learning how our actions affect the water we have available on earth. Weiss Lake Improvement Association organized Cherokee County's first Ground Water Festival in 2010 inviting all 4th grade classes to attend the event held at the Gadsden State Cherokee facility, with 335 students and 30 volunteer instructors, assistants and Youth Leadership Cherokee students participating. Every year the event is a success and we look forward to continuing this educational event.
